Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped

  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic

  • 3 cans (15 ounces each) chili beans in mild or spicy sauce (undrained)

  • 3 cans (8 ounces each) tomato sauce

  • 1 cup beef broth

  • Optional toppings: Shredded Cheddar cheese, sliced green onions, and/or red pepper flakes for extra heat

Directions

  • Start by seasoning the ground beef generously with salt and black pepper. Place it in the Cooking Pot of your Crockpot™ Express Pressure Cooker and select HIGH for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally to crumble the meat as it browns evenly. Once browned, toss in the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for an additional 2 minutes until the onion softens and becomes fragrant. Carefully drain away any excess fat.
  • Stir in the undrained chili beans, tomato sauce, and beef broth, ensuring everything is well combined for even flavor distribution. Secure the lid firmly in place. Choose the BEANS/CHILI setting, adjust to LOW pressure, and set the timer for 10 minutes. Confirm the Steam Release Valve is set to “Seal” (closed). Hit START/STOP to begin the pressure cooking magic.
  • When the cycle finishes, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes—this helps the flavors meld beautifully. Then, quick-release any remaining pressure. Ladle into bowls and crown with your choice of toppings for that personal touch.

Tips for Success

  • Make it your own: Dial up the spice with hotter beans or a dash of cayenne during the sauté step. For a vegetarian twist, swap the beef for plant-based crumbles.
  • Storage savvy: Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for 3 months. Reheat on the stove with a splash of broth to revive the consistency.
  • Pairing ideas: Serve alongside cornbread, tortilla chips, or a fresh green salad to round out the meal.

This no-fuss chili proves that delicious, comforting food doesn’t have to take all day. Fire up your pressure cooker and enjoy the ease!
